President's Day Weekend

We had a busy weekend this past weekend.  The kids were out of school last Thursday and Friday for parent teacher conferences.  We went to Chuck E. Cheese's on Friday to let the kids burn off some energy.  Then on Saturday, Scott's mom and brother Kevin came in town for the weekend.  We went out to lunch for her birthday and then we went and saw National Treasure.  Luckily, Brent slept through the whole movie.  On Sunday, we had some snow here so church was cancelled and then we had Nile's cub scout Blue and Gold Banquet for school that afternoon.  Scott made his mom his famous Carmel Apple Pie for her birthday which turned out delicious.  Then on Monday, we went Cosmic Golfing at the kids loved it.

Last week, Nile had his music program at school.  He did a great job.  He was front and center for the performance and is quite the entertainer.  He enjoyed a snow day last week and went sledding with one of his friends from hockey.  So Friday night we took the kids out to dinner for Chinese at Pei Wei,  and the kids used chopsticks to eat their dinner, even Brent.  He loved the food.  Then after dinner, we went by the ATM.  On the way  home, Brent said, "Mom, I need to tell you something."  and I said, okay Brent what do you want.  and he said, "Tell dad to give me some cash."  We were cracking up.  That night, we called Jason on the phone to see how he was doing.  I told the kids that he was getting ready to play in a hockey game and we all told him good luck.  Brent then said, "Let's go to Jason's hockey game."  I said, we have to take an airplane and fly back out to Utah and he said "Let's go."  He loves watching his uncles play hockey.

Sunday January 27

On Sunday we had an interesting day at church.  This is a picture we took before church.  I am in the primary and we have a "missionary moment"  we the kids can share an experience from the week where they have tried to share the gospel.   Our primary president was conducting and she called on Sunbeam during this "missionary moment."  The sunbeam then says, "When my sister was a baby my mommy used her nibbles to feed her milk."   It was a quite the comment.  All of the adults in the room had to contain their laughter.  Needless to say, we are changing the how me do our missionary moment and asking the parents to come in with their child to tell us if they have an experience.
